Sinopsis
Lisbon, April 1974: a movement led by Portuguese army captains
overthrew Western Europe’s oldest dictatorship without spilling
a drop of blood. Hundreds of photographers and filmmakers from
all over the world involved themselves in this revolution:
Glauber Rocha, Robert Kramer, Thomas Harlan, Pea Holmquist,
Santiago Alvarez, Sebastião Salgado, Guy Le Querrec, Dominique
Issermann, Jean Gaumy, etc They were coming from personal experiences
in Vietnam, Chile, May 68, and were looking for something different
in Portugal. A kind of political laboratory. What did they
find at that time? What happened to their dreams 25 years later?
The research for this documentary revealed about 40 films
made by foreign directors about the Portuguese Revolution.
25 years later, none of them had a single copy in Portugal. |
