Business Class
Dir.
Sérgio Tréfaut – feature film – 90’
In the 1997 New Year’s Eve, Maria, a beautiful Ukrainian woman
who arrives in Portugal with a tourist visa, is detained and
interrogated by the Immigration Police at Faro Airport.
The situation gets worse when the Police understand that her
husband, who is waiting for her, is a black African from Senegal.
The situation turns out to be a nightmare when she explains
she is a doctor.
After more than 24 hours of psychological torture and Police
incompetence, she is eventually expelled from the European
Union with a Business Class ticket (she is forced to buy) to
a country that is not her own.
BUSINESS CLASS is a film about the brutal behaviour of the
border officials and about the traumatic journey that marks
many people for life.
BUSINESS CLASS is based on a true story. |
